Advances in quantitative electroencephalography (EEG) are bringing us closer to automated seizure detection for patients with epilepsy, according to new study findings presented at AAN 2022.
Information theoretic approaches to quantitative EEG have the potential to transform epilepsy assessment, which currently relies on visual inspection of EEG results, said the researchers from Stanford University, California, USA. Information theoretic approaches can simplify the rich information contained in EEGs into objective properties.
