Population-based statistics to examine trends in brain tumor mortality

Mortality rates for demographic factors within primary malignant brain tumor (BT) and histopathology-specific incidence-based mortality rates were calculated and evaluated.
Overall, there was a small increase in mortality over time, particularly for persons >65 years, while Asian/Pacific Islander or American Indian/Alaskan Native experiencing the largest increase.
Authors concluded that examining demographic and histopathologic mortality trends can provide important information and aid in public health planning.
